A new trial lunch menu offer is being launched at Clacton Pier to pull in local midweek customers.
The two course meal – which will include a kid eats free with each adult purchase of the two course special – will be available in the Boardwalk Bar and Grill from Monday February 24.
It will be served from 12pm to 3pm Monday to Friday in term time costing £12.99, and £9.99 for those over 60.
There will be a choice of six main courses, as well as one main special of the day, and three deserts.
A separate children’s menu will be available and the free meal will apply to those under ten.

Neil Stacey, the pier’s commercial manager, said it is a pilot scheme and if successful could be expanded in the future.
“The aim is to encourage and increase business at a time when we are quieter – but also offer great value for money for our customers,” he added.
“Due to it being midweek and term time it is aimed more at locals to take advantage of with quality traditional pub grub.
“We have offered kids eat free meals in Discovery Bay soft play for some years now and we want to extend that to the Boardwalk.”
The venue already does special breakfast deals starting from £2.99.
“Financial times are tough for everyone at the moment and these offers work for all of us,” explained Mr Stacey. “We hope they will prove popular.”
The main meals include a Pier Pudding, steamed steak and kidney with chunky chips and peas; smashed Aberdeen Angus cheese burger with fries and coleslaw; freshly battered cod ‘n’ chunky chips with mushy peas or wholetail scampi, with fries, peas, tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon.
The dessert choice devil’s chocolate fudge cake with cream; Biscotti cheesecake or twin scoop of ice cream, sauce and wafer.
Children can choose from hot dog, chicken nuggets or fish fingers – with chips, peas or beans.
The pier’s February Frenzy event continues this week until Sunday February 23, with half price wristbands at £15. Full details at www.clactonpier.co.uk
