Clacton Pier is gearing up for one of its busiest bank holidays of the year.
Plans are well underway for the attraction’s Easter Extravaganza event – with an annual rides pass to be won across all 17 days.
A giant Easter Bunny will be hopping about meeting and greeting his young fans, there will be an egg trail and also the first free fireworks display of 2025.
Bosses are hoping that with a later date for the bank holiday weekend this year that the weather will be decent and visitors can enjoy everything on offer.
Around 25 extra staff are being recruited with ride operators, kiosk attendants and two team leaders for the bar and hygiene team all required for the season.

General Manager Harry Peek said Easter is a very important period for the pier.
“Traditionally the four day Easter weekend is second only to the August Bank Holiday for us in terms of footfall,” he explained.
“With it falling at the very end of the school break we will have a good long lead in with activities every day and our rides open for 17 consecutive days.
“There will be fun for all whatever the weather but it would be fantastic if the sun shines and we get off to a flying start which we can build on through 2025.
“Everyone in Tendring’s tourism and hospitality sector will have fingers crossed for a bumper boost to the town’s tourist economy.”

The Easter Bunny will be appearing daily in Discovery Bay soft play from April 5 to April 21 and is included in the admission price.
A golden hen is being encouraged to lay golden eggs and one will be hidden around the pier every day of the school holiday. The first to find it each day will receive a free annual rides pass worth £60.
An egg trail is also being set up around the site for children to enjoy.
On Sunday April 20 the pier will kick-off this year’s programme of free fireworks displays in association with Dynamic Fireworks of Colchester.
