Bosses at Clacton Pier are looking to recruit
a number of key posts at senior and mid-level management following the
landmark’s new £4 million development.

The completion of the first phase of the
project has led to minor restructures in various areas with six significant roles
up for grabs as part of the changes.

The Pier is searching for a general manager to
work back to back with the current operations manager; a rides operations
manager with an engineering background; two people at mid-level management to
oversee the day to day operations in the new Discovery Bay area, including a
restaurant and coffee shop.

A general engineering position also needs to
be filled in the technical services team as well as a finance and accounts team
member for the main office.

Managing Director Billy Ball, said it is an
exciting time to work at the Pier with further development and improvements
planned.

“These jobs have been created as part of our
ongoing expansion and we are looking for people who can bring some extra skills
and boost the capacity and capability of our excellent existing teams,” he
said.

“They will be part of a close-knit family run
business and there are opportunities to move up the ladder. Training is
provided where necessary and we are always willing to help develop people’s
careers.”

These posts are on top of the 60 full and
part-time jobs created as part of the new development, taking staff numbers to
more than 150.

The new general manager will share the overall
day to day responsibility for the running of the Pier and could well come from
a leisure or hospitality background or a customer led position. It will also
involve weekend and evening duties on a shared basis.

The rides operation manager will head up a
team of up to 40 in peak season along with dealing with customers and be able
to tackle inspections, maintenance and could suit someone from a military or
emergency services background.

The two posts in Discovery Bay would ideally
be experienced in general food and beverage operations such as a maître di.

“These are key posts going forward and we want
people who want to be part of the Pier family and are keen to work in a team
environment,” added Mr Ball. “There is a real buzz about the place and you
could be part of that.”

Anyone interested in these positions should
