It’s Halloween Scarefest time for a
whole month at Clacton Pier.
Youngsters – and adults – have the
chance to dress up and have fun on the pier with a host of activities and
offers laid on right through October.
Ghosts, ghouls and other things
that go bump in the night have been appearing already and it is all leading up
to a bumper half term week from October 21 to 29.
The Pier is open every weekend and
in the school holiday when all the rides will be operating as normal – with
extra events to mark Halloween.
Pier Director Billy Ball said there
is something for all ages to enjoy and a chance to celebrate Scarefest without
disturbing or upsetting other people.
“Halloween seems to be growing in
popularity in this country but it can also cause a nuisance for those who do
not want to take part in it,” he said.
“However, families can come down to
the Pier, join in with others who want to celebrate and make the most of the
fun activities together.”
There will be special children’s
entertainment every day that the Pier is open at 2.30pm; competitions for the
best costume and pumpkin drawing; a creepy magic show; Monster Mash dancing
competition; a pass the pumpkin competition; spooky story competition and lots
more.
There will be the chance to have your
face painted as well as enjoy a monstrous model display.
During half term the Seaquarium
will have a meet and greet event with spiders and snakes with three sessions at
1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
Entry to the XD movie theatre is
half price throughout October with two special films – Zombies and Pirates –
being shown, and there is “Search for Shaky Jake” for the tiny tots and treats
from the treasure chest.
There are also end of season sales
at the Love Clacton Gift Shop; the Seaquarium; Sweet Sensations and Candy
Corner as well as in the Prize Factory.
